Recently I read a very poignant quote from Kevin Spacey that said:
“If you have done well, it is your duty to send the elevator back down”
That sparked the idea that I should continue to mentor more event professionals to be the best they can be. To work with them through their challenges and help them grow their own businesses much like I have.
A business mentor/advisor/coach is something that I wish I had when I was starting out. Having one who was considered to be at the upper echelon of their career would have been my dream.
The reality was that nobody would talk to me about how to get started much less where to find business, how to price my services or how to create my image. I didn’t get to where I am today because I’m lucky, it is because I work hard and formulated a solid business that is based on interpreting the client’s perfect guest experience.
