Deciding on Wedding Planning Packages for You

You’re newly engaged…or you’ve been planning your wedding for a while and you’re wondering if wedding planning packages are right for you.  Whether you’re looking for a wedding planning package for your Napa Valley wedding or a wedding planning package for your destination wedding, deciding on the right service can be a difficult process.  We have found that the best way to assist couples in finding the right service is by setting-up a meeting or call to better understand how we can help couples reach their vision. Our services are then customized based on those needs.

Here’s a quick “cheat sheet” to showcase the three main categories of service to better help you understand which level of assistance is the best fit. While these are generally the levels of service we offer, features of each can be added or removed to best suit your needs.

Complete Wedding Design and Coordination:

Complete Wedding Design & Coordination is best for couples that would like not only to have design assistance for their wedding, but also want to work with someone to either take the lead with coordination or work with them to create a common thread throughout the event. This service often includes unlimited hours by the planner or designer working on your wedding, attending meetings with vendors, unlimited phone and e-mail support, monthly payment reminders, and managing all transportation and lodging for a couple’s guests.

Challenges:

The biggest challenge for couples that choose Complete Wedding Design and Coordination can be providing the planner with their vision, so that the planner can create a totally custom experience. Even though the planner will manage a majority of the process, couples will still need to communicate their vision to gain the most benefit from this service.  I always let my couples know that we don’t make any assumptions or treat your wedding like everyone else’s. Your wedding is unique; we will not know what you want unless you can communicate it to us.

Partial Service Wedding Planning:

Partial Planning can start as far as eight months from the event date. This service can include more dedicated hours from the planner to help answer questions and concerns, which can be especially helpful if your event is at a challenging venue. Partial planning can also include pre-screened vendors that are selected based on your event, several site visits, unlimited email and phone support, management of guest lodging and transportation, rehearsal, and day-of assistance.

Challenges:

One of the biggest challenges with partial planning is that design assistance is not included. If a couple is looking to create a cohesive design throughout the event with the help of our planners we often recommend going with Full Planning.  A couple will also need to spend more of their personal time working on their wedding planning with the planner.

Month of Wedding Coordination:

Month of Coordination is a great option for couple that can (or wish to) dedicate more of their own time and energy to the planning process. This service starts thirty days prior to the event and can include some of the following; a specified amount of hours dedicated to planning your unique event, a site visit, email and phone support, rehearsal, and day-of assistance, all within the thirty days leading up to the wedding.

Challenges:

Month of Coordination comes with its share of challenges. One of the most common challenges couples face is finding they have questions that pertain uniquely to the site they have chosen for their wedding. When couples aren’t able to find answers to those questions online they may require more assistance from the planner outside of the thirty days leading up to the event. Those couples will often choose to upgrade to the Partial Planning Service.
